Jacobson Family Reunion 2009
The 2009 Jacobson family reunion was in Manzanita, OR. It was so great to see everyone! We had a lot of fun playing on the beach and visiting with everyone. It wasn't hot weather by any means but we had a great time regardless. We are looking forward to next year!

4th of July Fun
We spent another year at the Phillips' to celebrate the 4th of July (on the 3rd as usual) and had a great time. Of course the fireworks were great. (Great job Dean!)
Unfortunately Kristine suffered an injury near the end of the evening (blame it on the beer) but was okay. :-)
Sadly, Jake touched something at some point during the evening (it could have been anything) and had some swelling on his fingers and some blister-looking bumps that we did not notice until we got home (he never told us he had an "owie".) The next morning we found that the blisters had broken during the night and his fingers and hands looked terrible. I took him into the convenience care at his pediatrician's office and they treated him for a chemical burn since there was no way of knowing what he touched. He was a trooper as the nurses bandaged his hands and did not cry until they were done and he wanted them off. Once home he immediately started playing and hasn't let the bandages slow him down one bit. We hope after a few days of home treatment, his hands will be back to normal.

Patio completed!
We have been working for what seems like ages on a patio for mom. Her yard is huge and too much for her to keep up with so I suggested taking out her front garden and putting in a deck or patio. She liked the idea so Scott and I have been gradually working on it and finally finished this past weekend. We added a step down from her porch and put in a 6 stone paver to butt up to the existing sidewalk. For not having done this kind of job before we are very proud of ourselves for the result.

Free Movie!!!
I love the free movies at Regal Cinemas. Woo hoo! After having to chauffeur Scott around this morning, we flew up to the theater and made it in time to see Madagascar 2 (again). It was so fun that Dawn, Emma and Caleb could join us. Hopefully we can do it again (and again?) before summer is over. :-)

Abby was here!
We are so happy Abby is back in town! She was hoping for a play date with Jenna and Jake and today worked out for us. Jenna was driving me insane asking when Abby was coming over. I am really happy they have moved back here from Spokane so hopefully we can see Abby on a more regular basis.

We survived the flood!
We got a reverse 911 call Wednesday afternoon (from city of Puyallup) recommending evacuation for 3 areas in Puyallup near the river. A website we found projected that the Puyallup river would reach 30 feet around 4 am and possibly up to 34 feet by 10 am on Thursday morning. Scott took a drive around 10:30 pm to check out the river and said it still had another 5 feet or so (near our area) before we would have to worry. We moved some stuff upstairs but realized if we did get flooded it would not be too deep. According to the website, it only made it up to 29-1/2 feet. We drove around today to inspect the rivers and areas surrounding the rivers and it was pretty crazy. Sadly there were quite a few homes we saw that had been flooded during the night. We feel extremely fortunate we weren't flooded.
Some pictures of the Puyallup river near Fred Meyer.

Happy New Year!
We made it through the holidays and are looking forward to a new year of fun adventures. Jenna and Jake return to school on Monday and it will be nice to try to get back into a schedule. Scott has been off work due to the poor weather and I am hoping that will change soon. It has been great to have him home, but I get out of my routine and it is hard to get back to.
